At the family farm she meets Jake’s mother (Toni Collette) and father (a delightfully awful David Thewlis) and they settle down for dinner. She doesn’t know why she agreed to go or why she started dating Jake in the first place.

Now they’re taking a long, uncomfortable, snowy road-trip together so she can meet his parents for the first time. It’s about a student, played by Jessie Buckley, who for six weeks has been dating Jake, a frustrated intellectual played Jesse Plemons.
